APPELLATION : AOC Champagne
GRAPE VARIETALS : 100 % Chardonnay from 3 harvests
TERROIR : From the chalky slopes of Montgenost and Villenauxe la Grande. 40 year-old vines. Certifed by TERRA VITIS. Zero use of herbicide and insecticide.
WINE MAKING : We use only grapes from our own vineyards, harvested by hand when natural sugar and acidity are in perfect balance. We use stainless steel tanks for wine making and large 50 hl vats as well as 300 l barrels for maturing our reserve wines. Natural settling. Slow wine making with as little intervention as possible. Our wines are aged on fine lees for a minimum of 10 months followed by at least 36 months in bottle in the cellars. We wait a further 8 months after disgorging before our wines are released for sale.
FOOD MATCHING : A fresh, uplifting champagne, perfect for casual moments of enjoyment or more formal celebrations. With its pale golden colour and its mass of iridescent bubbles, the delicate, fresh character of the wine is obvious at first glance. The nose starts on notes of almond, lime, boudoir biscuits and grapefruit followed by aromas of butter and white flowers. On the palate the wine is lively and refreshing showing honey and ripe apples. A Blanc de Blancs that typifies the terroir and the varietal.

Today, Marie runs the estate, and with the help of her husband, cultivates 9 hectares of vines across three distinct terroirs: Côte de Sézanne, Côte des Bar, and Vallée de la Marne. All three classic Champagne varieties are grown - Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier - though Chardonnay (Blanc de Blancs) is what she is most famous for.
The domaine has been certified organic since 2021, with a total of 10.5 hectares of vineyards (leased & owned) under organic management. Marie employs low-intervention winemaking methods, wild fermentation, extended lees aging, minimal dosage and extended élevage in bottle before release to ensure the wines best reflect the vines and their soils.
Copinet’s wines span from the elegant classicism of her "house-style" Blanc de Blancs Brut to the more expressive single-vineyard bottlings, capturing the nuances of each parcel and vineyard in vivid, lucid brushstrokes.
In a region where more than 19,000 growers sell the fruits of their labour to just a handful of large, corporate Champagne houses (such as Moët, Veuve etc), it is refreshing to support a small, indendent vigneronne who grows her own fruit to produce her own wine, thus embracing the true 'Grower Champagne' spirit.
